Captain Marvel Nia DaCosta Editorial illustration

Another editorial illustration for the folks at inverse.com This time I teamed up with writer Roxane Gay for a feature about Director Nia DaCosta. Like the jane Thor editorial illustration I did I was told to make Nia into Captain Marvel but not use an existing design. So I design something that felt like the current Captain Marvel movie design but also incorporated elements from the comic versions. it was a lot of fun. Imagine my surprise when I saw behind the scenes set footage from "The Marvels" of Nia at a birthday wrap celebration wearing the illustration I did as a shirt, sooo cool!

I am not sure if it is on the making of featurettes on the bluray but I do know Nia did see it when we originally did the article. She or her management needed to approve it.
